XLT Industrial Training was set up as a specialist welding training facility with a commitment to providing high-quality training and addressing global needs with a focus on craftsmanship, values and attitudes.

XlT has grown to be one of Australia's largest and most diverse private Registered Training Organisations (RTO) in Engineering, Construction and Safety.

Receptiona at XLT's office in Spearwood XLT currently operates from a large (4000sqm) facility located in Bibra Lake, WA, which is close proximity to the Port of Fremantle, Garden Island Naval Base and Henderson (The Australian Marine Complex), and Brisbane, QLD, in close proximity to the airport and industrial area.

Both sites are modern and equipped with the latest technologies including;

40 individual welding bays fitted with STT, Sub-Arc, Lincoln, ESAB, Cigweld, Thermadyne and WIA machines welding all materials from Carbon Steel to Titanium, including Plasma Welding.

25, 30 and 60 Ton Cranes and delivering training in Dogging, Rigging, EWP, C6 Crane Operation, and Safety.

An Underwater Welding and Training facility fully equipped with commercial dive equipment as would be expected in an offshore operation.

XLT Industrial Training's quality has been recognised globally by gaining approvals from International Class Societies including Lloyds of London, American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Bureau Veritas (BV) and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and in 2008 gained Germanischer Lloyd approvals for welding and several welding procedures including the in-water/in-situ hull section weld repair procedure plus Manufacturer's Capability Certified.

In 1998 XLT began offering a Nationally Accredited Underwater Welding Course for Diver/Welders for the very first time. Since its inception, this course has attracted divers from all over the world, and regularly trains and qualifies divers from the Royal Australian Navy.

And XLT's consulting services have much experience working on many of Australia's Resources Projects writing procedures using Stainless Steel, Carbon Steel and Duplex as well as many other exotic materials.

 

About Clive Langley, Managing Director

Clive Langley has spent more than 30 years working in the Metal Trades Industry since beginning his own Apprenticeship in Welding in the United Kingdom. Over this time he has gained much knowledge and experience and has been Internationally Acclaimed and Awarded for inventing and developing the revolutionary Dry Underwater Welding System, "Nepsys".

Nepsys gained both National and International Patents from Australia, United States and 31 European Countries and is the flagship technology of Neptune Marine Services (ASX Code: NMS), of which Clive was the founder and former Managing Director before leaving the company in 2007.

And as well as being a a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Clive has been recognised within industry being invited to present technical papers for Underwater Intervention, which is the combined annual conference of the Association of Diving Contractors International and the The Marine Technology Society's ROV Committee, and for the Welding Technology Institute of Australia (WTIA).

And Clive Langley's hard work, vision and dedication to all stakeholders of the Training Industry has seen XLT Industrial Training rise to the forefront of innovation and development in training delivery and earn the highest recognition for delivering flexibility and excellence in training programs by being awarded the Small Training Provider of The Year at the 2004 Training Excellence Awards.

Since this time XLT has enjoyed strong growth and continued a proud reputation of quality training through taking an innovative approach to meet the demands of industry.
