Overview We are XLT Industrial Training Inc. XLT has several subsidiary “trading as” companies. Our primary business functions may be divided into three components. We are a private registered training organization. XLT is also an industry consultant, technical problem solver and specialty industry support specialist in all areas of engineering and technology. We are also a research and development facility seeking to problem solve through technological development for industry. XLT provides an independent ‘one stop shop’ for all aspects of engineering, polymer and metal trades. We specialize in all forms of engineering training, research and development and technical support. As such we require extensive facilities capable of supporting any industry demands that we are called upon to meet or supply. Vision Statement XLT Industrial Training Pty. Ltd. (XLT) delivers leading VET training for the engineering, metals and construction sectors, developing, instilling and cherishing craftsmanship values and attitudes. Our philosophy incorporates an ideology that places great worth on the individual. This worth is inculcated through a mentored, holistic and flexible training approach that starts pre-course and continues beyond course completion. XLT places an emphasis on research and development, as well as strong partnerships with industry and is accredited to deliver training to our industry clients, apprentices and trainees. The ever expanding range of multi-welding, fabrication, pipefitting, forklift use, dogging, rigging, scaffolding work on elevated work platforms and confined spaces, fabrication and construction training courses and challenges across the vast variety of engineering fields aim to meet industry needs and provide opportunities for people of all backgrounds. Our facilities will always provide a learning and training environment that stimulate workplace best practice and offers challenges that exceed those required or experienced on the job. History Meeting the training needs of the Mining and Engineering industries has been a key driver for the development of resources and expertise at XLT Industrial Training. Our success in meeting this skills agenda has seen our reputation develop on a national and international basis with increasing numbers of international students and a growing presence in the Asia Pacific Region. XLT Industrial Training has always had a reputation for producing highly employable graduates and providing quality learning experiences to equip graduates with the skill set that Mining and Engineering industries demand. Our historic records attest to our achievement with outstanding completion rates and very satisfied employers. We aim to continue and expand on this history To us AQTF standards represent a minimum which we will go further than. XLT are approaching our fifteenth year of operations as a major provider in our area of industry. Our successful track record includes obtaining CRICOS, excellence in training awards and we are world leaders in our patented underwater welding techniques. Our knowledge in welding and polymer use in engineering is second to none and we have developed a number of life and labour saving devices for industry. Last year we established a training centre in Brisbane. We have now outgrown this facility and are now forced to limit our intake of trainees. We shall now seek a much larger Queensland complex that may well become our administrative centre and flagship facility Plans For Expansion We are vitally interested in expanding our operations geographically as well as in scope (across ALL areas of Engineering and depth (up to advanced Diploma and graduate diploma level). We recognise, however, we cannot achieve these aspirations without appropriate facilities close to our industry partners. To this end we seek to take possession of a significant facility in Queensland early in 2011. We also plan to expand our efforts into NSW during 2011 with a new facility there. XLT also aspire to develop a fleet of portable learning facilities by which training can be readily taken to any remote work site. Marketing And Industry Relations XLT in early 2011 shall be entering a new era of aggressive marketing. We see this as important for our nation as our countries skills shortage becomes worse. Working with individuals, corporate clients and individual employers we are in tune with and responsive to current economic activity. Our comprehensive understanding of the associated skill requirements empowers us to be at the forefront of workforce training and development. With Mining and Engineering industry experts delivering our programs, clients can be assured of a highly employable graduate. XLT have the ability to support business and industry through consultation offering high quality flexible programs and practical corporate solutions. Constantly aspiring to give industry what it needs, skills cards detailing exactly what a welder can do were developed by XLT. We intend to role this level of detail out for industry in all areas in which we train. We can :undertake testing of the integrity of materials and constructions, act as consultants for research, maintenance and development of materials, develop procedures for maintenance and development of materials and structures, actually undertake AND train in the utilization of welding with exotic alloys {[such as duplex (Cu/Ni alloy) ] quartz and rare and exotic polymers as well as all the standard iron, steel and polyethylene welds} and in highly specialized environments (confined spaces, underwater, marine etc.).
